SXSWi 2009 is now fading into history as I posted my last panel review this week. I'm excited about the things going on in the web design industry and I'm optimistic about our future (all economic downturns aside). It looks like the demand for good design will weather the storm and come out stronger on the other side. Now, I'll leave you with this week's 5 for Friday.

Does including the text editor post mean you have changed from using MS Notepad? :-) I have used TextPad, but I find Notepad ++ just as good and it's free.

Here's another vote for Notepad++.

Nope, still using MS Notepad. But I've only ever used it to strip out bad MS Word HTML formatting. I use Dreamweaver for actual coding. Notepad++ is a good one. I agree.

Personally, I use Notepad2 and HTML-Kit for editing php/html.

Why the visual appearance of NetGen broken and disheaveled? Look at their page layout, their typography, images, clothing, mismatched styles, hairstyles,... Why? Is it simple teen year rebellion? No. I don't think so. It seems to be more than this. I know when I get a good answer to this it will be "Oh, well duh!" but right now life is too busy to really concentrate on this. Certainly it has to do with the cultural revolution of the postmodern era breaking from the modern. Or, more likely, the end of the modern era (which is currently called postmodern).

Steve, good question and one which I've been thinking over in the last few weeks. I think this is worth an article. Keep a lookout for one in the next few weeks.
